EN | Marimelo is a children's fashion atelier that dresses girls aged 2 to 12 with delicacy, modesty, and absolute comfort. Carrying a family heritage of three generations in sewing, the brand aims to convey deep care and respect for the natural pace of childhood, guided primarily by the Caregiver archetype. Our main challenge and objective in this project was to distance the brand from the image of an ordinary or overly infantilized children's store. The focus was to reposition Marimelo as a high-end artisanal atelier that speaks directly to the real decision-makers—mothers, grandmothers, and aunts—building an authority in craftsmanship without losing its inherent sweetness.
In art direction and photography, we moved away from the artificial "plastic studio" aesthetic, adopting an image editing style that preserves true colors and the artisanal texture of the fabrics. We created the "How good it is to be a child" style, utilizing natural light and high shutter speeds to capture fluid movements, highlighting the spontaneity and comfort of the dresses on playing children. We also developed the "Family Affection" style, focusing on intimate indoor scenes with cozy lighting and a nostalgic tone that captures intergenerational care.
Finally, we created the character Mari to personify the brand's essence: a 6-year-old Brazilian girl with a blonde bob haircut and honey-colored eyes. She acts in two distinct contexts to humanize the atelier's communication.
